The CDSD Online Academy is pleased to announce the inception of its own cyber school.  The cyber school is a partnership with the CAIU called CAOLA.  CAOLA is a web-based educational format that was created by Edison Learning.  The cyber school (CAOLA) also works with Apex and Aventa Learning.

Currently, the cyber school is being offered to those students in grades 9-12.  In the future, there may be opportunities for students in younger grades to partake in this new educational programming.  Right now, all students in the CDSD Online Academy are those who are outside the traditional brick and mortar school.

The high quality curriculum and an innovative software platform, powered by EdisonLearning, allow for customized learning.  Each student has the opportunity to learn at their own pace to truly gain understanding.   Aditionally, each student will be supported online by a Pennsylvania certified teacher to provide the help needed to succeed. Students participating in the online cyber school program could be provided a loaner computer, printer and all necessary peripherals.

As we work to expand the district's cyber school, we will start to invite students to take cyber classes on a part time basis.  For example, a student could take classes at the high school and one or two classes within the cyber school.  (There may be a fee associated for additional cyber courses.)  We are also looking to provide an opportunity to middle school to have summer school from home.

The CAOLA cyber school offeres students 82 different courses.  There are AP courses and World Languages.  All course work falls within the high school's Course Catelog and meets district graduation requirements.
